Nominate your Malvern grot spots

Malvern Hills residents are being urged to nominate their litter grot spots as a community litter squad prepares to clean up areas in need of some TLC.

The community litter pick, taking place in September, follows on from the success of the Great British Spring Clean campaign earlier in the year, where more than 30 bags of rubbish were filled.

Malvern Hills District Council will be sending out the litter squad - made up of residents, staff and councillors, to tackle nominated grot spot areas identified by local residents.

To nominate a grot spot, or join the community litter squad contact or tweet @MalvernHills_DC by Monday 21 August.

Equipment is also available to loan to local community groups who would like to conduct their own litter picks. Anyone interested should contact

Cllr Bronwen Behan, Portfolio Holder for the Environment at Malvern Hills District Council said: “After the success of the community litter picking efforts back in March we have been overwhelmed by volunteers coming forward to take part in our future litter picks.

“We want to preserve our beautiful green spaces and encourage communities to work together and help make a positive impact on the environment, which we all feel is so important.”
